Happy Tuesday Everyone!
I am still working on carving out time to post my recent tutorial, but in the mean time I wanted to share some products that I have been enjoying lately!
Generally, I am not very adventurous when it comes to cosmetics. When I find something that works, I stick with it. And usually that something is not high-end cosmetics. Almost all of the cosmetics I use can be found at Walmart, Target or any major drug store.
While strolling through the aisles of my local Walmart a few weeks ago, I spotted their display of Flower Beauty Cosmetics. I had heard that Drew Barrymore was coming out with a cosmetics line… but I am really not one to go buy a product just because a celebrity’s name is on it.
The item that first got my attention was the nail lacquers.
I’ll begin by saying that I am hard on my nails. I have never been one to hold back on doing something because my nails are painted… and inevitably they wind up chipped up and messy in about 3 days. Lately, I have even been splurging on the occasional bottle of OPI or Essie. However, I almost never get around to a top coat so they too chip fairly easily.
I digress… When I saw the Flower line of nail lacquers at about $5/each I figured I would give them a try. I got the “Go With Th Flow-er” color. (click here to see the colors available) A few days later, I put on two relatively light coats without a top coat and let me tell you… It lasted at least 5 days without any significant chipping! Also, this color is a chameleon… its nude in some lights, occasionally khaki/green and even looks grey at times. Pretty nifty!
I don’t know why, but it seems that every store I have gone to has failed to have my usual Maybelline mascara in stock. So I was already thinking of giving something new a try. That’s when I spotted this mascara:
This is a really neat product in that as you turn the top portion of the application wand, the brush shape changes. You can see this on the black tip in the photo above. The straight brush lengthens lashes, semi-twirled brush curls lashes, and the fully twirled gives them fullness. I was a bit skeptical at first, but each brush does just what it claims.
Possibly the best part of this line is that all products are made in the USA and never tested on animals.
I went back last week and got a few more colors of the nail lacquer. I have been wearing “Bluebell of the Ball” for almost a week (still minimal chipping) and have received multiple compliments on it. I’m also thinking of trying the Illuminating Concealer, Lip Tint in “Dewy Rose”, and a few of the Eyeshadow Quads in the next few weeks. Also, Flower Beauty is only carried at Walmart.
This is not a sponsored post and all opinions here are my own. I just wanted to share a recent find with all of you!
Have a great day and I’ll be back later this week with the next Friday Floral!
