Four Favorites – 4th Edition

Hi There!

Checking in this week with another Four Favorites post. I’ve been out of commission posting while the plumbing in our townhome was being replaced. The work was completed late last week and we are putting things back together slowly but surely.

I am certainly ready to get back to a few DIY projects I’ve had in mind and am excited to share them with you soon.

Here are some items that have caught my fancy over the past few weeks.

1) Pierced Porcelain Tealights, 2) Amaryllis Measuring Cups, 3) Monogrammed Garland Ring Dish, 4) Retro Magnetic Timer

More on some DIY projects in the works and our deck décor early next week.

Four Favorites – 3rd Edition

It’s beginning to feel like we’ve been transplanted in the Pacific Northwest this week… rain, rain and more rain with no end in sight! Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful not to be having a drought similar to the one we had about 4 years ago. And yet, this wet weather has me daydreaming in cool tones… blues, aquas, and greens.

This week’s Four Favorites post is the joyful product of my imaginings:

Frosted Doily Plates, Glass Knots, Boxwood Trees & Wafture Planters

I love this lace/vintage inspired dinnerware at Anthropologie. It’s a funky fresh way to infuse color into a spring or summer tablescape. Next, West Elm’s glass knot is a elegant and contemporary accessory addition. It comes in a variety of colors, but I am drawn to the teal.

One of my favorite additions to any space is greenery. Whether real or faux, it brings an organic and natural touch to any space. When using faux greenery, quality is paramount. Cheap greenery looks like exactly that. These boxwoods would be optimal for year round use. Last, these Wafture planters remind me of two beautiful thrift store/estate sale finds I’ve snatched up lately.

Chinoiserie accents are a fabulous way to incorporate eclectic yet timeless items into a space.

Four Favorites – 2nd Edition

Here in the lone star state spring has officially sprung. This past weekend was one of the most glorious stretches of beautiful weather we have seen in a long time. Our days were spent with activities like kite flying, running errands and soaking up as much sun and fresh air as possible!

Today, I’m continuing the Four Favorites series that I started a few weeks ago. I find myself in a bit of a golden mood this week and in that spirit here are a few of my favorite articles of gold/brass merchandise.

1) Gold Foil Notecards, 2) Gilded Globe, 3) Marble Table Lamp, 4) Bestiary Pencil Holder

Somehow I managed to pick items that could all be used to create a stylish desk top. Although my workspace is more or less complete, which of these pieces would you like to supplement to your desk?

Little Joys

Hi there!

I’m just popping in for a quick post today… Do you ever have a day where you remember just how great the little joys in life can be?

What are my little joys today? A spring break trip to see family with a few of my favorite people, the open road combined with satellite radio, and a few new items for my kitchen.

After last week’s Four Favorites post, I decided to purchase the pretty little spoon rest from Anthropologie. This fetching bowl also caught my eye. I try to use a trash bowl when cooking because I find that I go much faster without frequent trips to the trash can. Both items were opened and positioned in their new locale.

Occasionally, the smallest details can brighten a cloudy day!

Later this week, I’ll be sharing about a side project that’s been in the works.

Is there something small in your house that instantly improves your day?

Four Favorites

Ever have a week where you wish you could just curl up in bed and read a good book? For me, this is one of them.
It’s been fairly blah thus far between the time change, rainy days and cloudy skies.

Nevertheless, I did some web surfing/shopping over the past few days to get me out of this funk and here are four of my favorite things right now:

1) Spoon Rest 2) Hobnail Bottles 3) Prisma Frame 4) Bettina Notecards

I have been on the prowl for a cute spoon rest for a while now and the one above was the winner.
