Four Favorites – Halloween Edition 2015

Can you believe Halloween is only a few short days away?!

For today’s Four Favorites post I wanted to feature Halloween décor that I think is absolutely adorable. There’s still time to run out and grab some cute clearance items.

Personally, I have never been into super spooky Halloween décor or even costumes. So usually I don’t go big on Halloween specific decorations. These are just too fun not too share!

1) Sticky Pumpkin Face Kit – Paper Source

A super cute alternative to pumpkin carving and a great way to decorate smaller pumpkins

2) Halloween Luminaries – World Market

I could see these being a great addition to a front porch or front walk.

3) Mummy Owl – World Market

World Market has several mummy animals right now but I think this little owl might be the cutest. What a cute/not too scary accent!

4) Candy Corn Garland Kit – Paper Source

This could be a fun activity with kiddos to use on the mantel or above the front door for trick-or-treaters.

So bust out a fun bowl of treats and have a very Happy Halloween this weekend!

Four Favorites – 4th Edition

Hi There!

Checking in this week with another Four Favorites post. I’ve been out of commission posting while the plumbing in our townhome was being replaced. The work was completed late last week and we are putting things back together slowly but surely.

I am certainly ready to get back to a few DIY projects I’ve had in mind and am excited to share them with you soon.

Here are some items that have caught my fancy over the past few weeks.

1) Pierced Porcelain Tealights, 2) Amaryllis Measuring Cups, 3) Monogrammed Garland Ring Dish, 4) Retro Magnetic Timer

More on some DIY projects in the works and our deck décor early next week.

Bohemian Girls Bedroom

Hi There!

We have been super busy over the past few weeks! We celebrated our son’s 4th birthday a few weeks ago and it was a blast! Now it feels like things are slowing down a bit, but I really can’t believe the beginning of May is around the corner!

I’m stopping by to show you a new project I’m working on. A client of ours has asked for a “Bohemian Moroccan” feel in their oldest daughter’s room. She has just been accepted to a prestigious art based high school and embracing her artistic and individual style. Along with an eclectic feel, the space also needs to be functional. We need to accommodate a bed, sitting/reading area, as well as ample storage for art supplies and creating masterpieces. Overall, I want the space to have well-traveled vibe, but to still embody the bright tones and whimsy of the teenage years.

Tamarin Quilt Set, Chindi Triangles Pillow, Ashti Pom Pom Pillow, Hand Loom Facet Pillow, Tassled Jacare Pillow, Bubble Knit Pillow, Coral Bamboo Curtains, Aurora String Lights, Scholar Desk Chair, Lacquer Storage Desk, Reina Chair, Moroccan Wedding Pouf, Gypsy Stripe Woven Rug, Bohemian Wool Woven Rug, Gypsy Rose Cotton Hooked Rug, & Rhapsody Wool Woven Rug

The bedding is from the Mudhut line at Target. I love the vibrance in this line mixed with a global style so this quilt was a natural choice. We will mix in pillows with various colors and textures for a “collected” look. The curtains bring in a hint of an Asian vibe and string lights will accent the panels for soft mood lighting, per the young client’s request. 😉 A large corner desk accompanied by a vintage style desk chair will provide plenty of storage and a great space for both academics and artwork. A few Dash and Albert rugs layered around the room will bring home the bohemian atmosphere while a funky peacock chair and Moroccan Pouf create a reading/sitting area.

In fact, I think this could work in a playroom, office or living space with a few tweaks and I adore the incorporation of both color and culture.

What do you think of it? Do you enjoy an eclectic space?

Four Favorites – 2nd Edition

Here in the lone star state spring has officially sprung. This past weekend was one of the most glorious stretches of beautiful weather we have seen in a long time. Our days were spent with activities like kite flying, running errands and soaking up as much sun and fresh air as possible!

Today, I’m continuing the Four Favorites series that I started a few weeks ago. I find myself in a bit of a golden mood this week and in that spirit here are a few of my favorite articles of gold/brass merchandise.

1) Gold Foil Notecards, 2) Gilded Globe, 3) Marble Table Lamp, 4) Bestiary Pencil Holder

Somehow I managed to pick items that could all be used to create a stylish desk top. Although my workspace is more or less complete, which of these pieces would you like to supplement to your desk?

Four Favorites

Ever have a week where you wish you could just curl up in bed and read a good book? For me, this is one of them.
It’s been fairly blah thus far between the time change, rainy days and cloudy skies.

Nevertheless, I did some web surfing/shopping over the past few days to get me out of this funk and here are four of my favorite things right now:

1) Spoon Rest 2) Hobnail Bottles 3) Prisma Frame 4) Bettina Notecards

I have been on the prowl for a cute spoon rest for a while now and the one above was the winner.
